Cosmetic mole removal
Unsightly raised moles or skin tags can be safely removed with minimal or no scarring.
- Which Moles can be treated?
Benign (non-cancerous) raised moles or skin tags can be treated.
- What is involved?
The area will be numbed with a local anaesthetic injection, and once numb removed using a shave excision, this method ensures that the lesion can be sent to the pathology lab for diagnosis and gives an excellent cosmetic result.
Age warts (seborrheic keratosis) are removed with a combination of diathermy and curettage.
- What is the cost?
$140 for up to four lesions in one appointment.
There maybe a medicate rebate depending on the lesion treated.
- What is the recommended aftercare?
After the procedure the areas treated will be covered with a small dressing.
It is recommended that you keep the areas dry for 3 days. On the 3rd day the dressings can be removed and you can shower as usual.
Depending on the areas treated you can apply Vaseline or keep the areas covered with a fresh band-aid dressing, this promotes moist wound healing and minimises scarring.
A silicone gel or sheet such as Strataderm ® or Dermatix can also be used to maximise the cosmetic result.
